There will be a final reunion tea party for everyone involved in the CHV archive project, and others with whom we’ve made contact on 17th October at Jesus College, starting at 3pm. Arrangements are as follows.
Please would you send me an email confirming that you and partner (most welcome) will attend and indicate any dietary requirements. Tea will be simple but we do have to cover costs by charging you £20 per head. Please make a transfer into the account specially set up for the event:
- Account name: Children’s Holiday Venture archive
- Account number: 72820497
- Sort code: 53-70-11
- Please use your surname as a reference.
The party itself will be most informal with no speeches except to make a presentation to the four colleges that were the source of the most volunteers: Clare, Homerton, Jesus and St. Catharine’s. The presentation will take the form of a publication drawing together content from this site. Copies will be given to each contributor to the site. If you are unable to attend the event, please send me your postal address so that I can send you one.
We have booked the Bawden Room for the event, which is in West Court, a new conference centre opened at the College recently. It is marked on the map below, and there is plenty of signage at the College itself.
Parking facilities are also marked on the map, which we can use on the day, but please note the spaces cannot be reserved or guaranteed as they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jesus College has rooms available for those who need to stay overnight. Graduates of the College are entitled to a 10% discount. Graduates from anywhere else will be given the discount if they mention the event when booking. Bookings should be made direct with the College. Details are on the College website, here.
